About the Pomodoro Technique
What is Pomodoro? A time management method that breaks work into 25-minute focused intervals (called "pomodoros") separated by short breaks.
How it works: Work for 25 minutes β Take a 5-minute break β Repeat. After 4 sessions, take a longer 15-minute break.
Benefits: Improves focus, reduces burnout, maintains mental freshness, and makes large tasks feel more manageable.
Tips: Eliminate distractions during work sessions, use breaks to step away from your workspace, and track completed sessions to measure productivity.
Pomodoro timer FAQs
What happens if I close the tab while the timer is running?
The timer runs entirely in your browser. If you close the tab or refresh the page, the active countdown stops, although completed sessions from today remain in the local history panel.
Do I need notifications for the timer to work?
Notifications are optional. They let you receive alerts when a work or break session ends, especially when the tab is in the background. The timer itself continues to work even if you decline notifications.
Can I change the default Pomodoro durations?
Yes. You can adjust work, short break, and long break durations in the settings, and enable automatic break start if you prefer to chain sessions with minimal manual clicks.
