Tip: Switch to the Magic Editor tab to add custom backgrounds or colors!
The Background Remover helps separate a foreground subject from the scene behind it, then gives you editing controls for transparent PNG exports, solid-color backdrops, and replacement background images. It is useful when you need clean product photos, profile images, presentation graphics, marketplace thumbnails, or social media visuals without opening a full desktop editor.
Good background removal depends on the quality of the source image. The AI model performs best when the subject is sharp, the lighting is even, and the edges are visible against the original background. Portrait mode is tuned for people and hair detail, while General mode is better for products, objects, and mixed scenes. After processing, the editor lets you inspect edges, adjust the composition, and export a finished image that is ready for web or document use.
Step 1: Upload a clear JPG, PNG, or WEBP image where the subject is easy to distinguish from the background.
Step 2: Choose General mode for products and objects, or Portrait mode for people and headshots when available.
Step 3: Process the image, then compare the original and processed result to inspect edges, hair, shadows, and transparent areas.
Step 4: Use the editor to keep transparency, select a solid background color, or add a replacement image before downloading the final file.

Yes. After processing, you can download a transparent PNG or add a new solid color or image background in the editor.
Fine hair, shadows, reflections, motion blur, and low contrast can make subject boundaries difficult. A higher-quality source image usually improves the result.
